Phil Alexander

“Philfy” Phil Alexander – singer of silly songs and igniter of lyrical fireworks.  He has been entertaining people round camp fires, at parties and musical gigs for more decades than he cares to remember.

“Shock & Awe in musical form!”

Packed full of “Did he really sing about that!!??” moments. Not to be missed.”I could go on.

David Young

David Young is an American comedian who got his start performing standup to his fellow troops in Iraq. After moving to Hungary he began performing to Ex-Pat crowds in Budapest, Bratislava, and Prague opening for top UK comics doing their Continental Europe tours. Having just moved to the UK in August of 2011 he is already making waves on the comedy circuit, winning the Leicester “Stay or Go” competition and winning the always tough Comedy Store ‘King Gong competition. David was also tapped to take part in the filming of the new Frankie Boyle pilot “Rehabilitation Program” sadly not picked up by Channel 4. Being a soldier for 17 years gives him a point of view and stories “civilians” rarely ever get to see or hear. His style is fast paced and irreverent with “off color” material ranging from true-life perversion to the surreal. If you’ve got a sick sense of humor then the laughter he creates is certainly the best medicine!

BBBen Briggs

Ben’s likeable stage presence and sharp material has made him in demand as an act and compere up and down the country and saw him reach the Final of the Midlands Comedian of the Year Award in 2011.

Dark, Open and bold in his material he stretches the boundaries of taste and decency.

-

KF Katie Field

“Since I first saw her a few years ago, Katie Field has come on leaps and bounds. Not only has she clearly worked on her material, but she has also honed one of the most important tools in a comic’s armoury – her comedy persona. Katie’s put in a lot of hard work in developing her craft and it’s clearly paying off.” Maureen Younger : New Female Comics Making Waves

-

WLWilliam Lee

William Lee is not your atypical Chinese-Australian. Based in London for the past 5 years; William’s act can be described as surreal with manic retelling of stories about everyday life and other not-so-real life. William been described by LoveFringe.com Website as  “.. Presenting ideas as bizarre and diverse as Seagull owned chip shops and Ninja Assasination….he also drew on racial stereotypes and clever cultural references to lead you down unexpected paths of humour. Definitely an act to watch for the future.”

-

ASAaron Simonds

Aaron has been trying to stand up for 25 years. Luckily, he can do comedy even if he can’t do the standing up.

He has a unique perspective on life, usually of people’s belly buttons.

He’s greatest influences are: Nelson Mandela, Muhammed Ali and Barry Chuckle.

AMAlex Martini

Alex Martini is an Italian-born London-based stand-up comedian. He talks mainly about food, following the Italian stereotypes. Not because he loves food (not a good cook!), but because when he tries to talk about more interesting subjects like Politics or Social Inequality, he always get told to go back where he came from. And he doesn’t like it there!

Jon Murfin

“A powerhouse of gags. A storyteller first and foremost, Jon is a real crowd pleaser. Jon’s stories of recent fatherhood are heart warming, harrowing and utterly hilarious. Perhaps unwittingly, Jon is carving out a spectacular career as one of our best stand ups. ”
We Love Comedy

“Without doubt one of our favourite acts, a very funny man, simply brilliant.”
Laugh out Loud Comedy

“Quite frankly Jon brought the house down. His material is very strong and funny and he performs it like a consummate professional.  He was the firm favourite of the night and we would love to see him all over again.  He is the kind of comedian you could place anywhere on  the bill and you wouldn’t be disappointed.”
The Wine Cellar Comedy Club

“You were amazing Jon, you blew them away and everyone couldn’t stop talking about your set”
The Studio in Widnes.

“Jon stepped up in front of a quiet local audience and consistently made them laugh out loud for 20 minutes. A brilliant act with a strong mix of material.”

poPresident Obonjo

President Obonjo of Lafta Republic has been performing stand-up comedy since 2010.  The President is a comedy character, whose set combines political and personal story lines (drawing on his alter ego’s experiences and influences as a British Nigerian), the impact of Social media on his life, and the nonsense of modern life.  He is a bit of a charmer in his Field Marshal’s uniform!

“Extremely talented comic, and has a bright future in the comedy scene.” Ron Hollingsworth
“Judging by the opening performance of the first Lafta Republic comedy show, this is one head of state who delivers what he promises.”
Herts Advertiser

“President Obonjo has been an act and compere at three of my pro/ semi-pro comedy nights, returning by popular demand; he is at home in a rural pub as in a posh town theatre. Audiences love his charm, cheekiness and unique take on life as a ‘comedy dictator! Book him before he’s famous!” Fred Ferenczi

Brilliantly crafted….” Chris Hall

“The President is a spectacle and should not be missed, you will be blown away by his energy of this well established comedian, and he became my President that night.”

rt Ryan Theivam

Ryan Theivam serves up the pain of his autobiography for your giddy pleasure. Favouring long form jokes over one-liners, his routines are like a house of cards: they build and build before folding under a weight of laughter. This year he’s taking his show ‘Teacher’s: Double Measure’ to the Edinburgh Festival. An alcohol pun title that documents the sobering experience of being a secondary school teacher.

Recently, he reached the semi-final of the nationwide ‘So You Think You’re Funny’ competition where he lost on penalties. There, his act was described as ‘smart, knotty lines that break away from the common fodder of acts.’
